Dr Kim McCleary

Veterinarian

Dr Kim McCleary, pictured with her dog Frank, graduated from Murdoch University in 2003 and has been with us since 2004.

Kim has a special interest in surgery and feline medicine. She also loves Kelpies! Kim loves spending time with Frank at the dog beach and working together sheep herding.

Dr Tara Valentine

Veterinarian

Dr Tara graduated from Murdoch University in 2014. Since then she has worked in the United Kingdom and various locum jobs in Perth before taking a full time position at Cannington Veterinary Hospital in 2018.

Tara enjoys performing surgery and has an interest in animal welfare.

Tara loves dog walking at South Beach with her whippet Adira. She also has a cat named Pepper who she raised after being brought into her clinic as a tiny kitten.

Dr Kirsten Underwood

Veterinarian

Dr Kirsten Underwood began working at Cannington Veterinary Hospital after graduating from Murdoch University in 1995 but her full time job now is with South Metropolitan Tafe, Bentley, as an instructor and coordinator of veterinary nursing traineeships.

Kirsten has a special interest in dermatology and small furry pets such as rabbits, and ferrets. Kirsten currently works the occasional Saturday morning shift.

Dr Emily Ho

Veterinarian

Dr Emily graduated from Murdoch University in 2015, where she first worked with us to complete her veterinary placement.  

Emily has a special interest in Dermatology and Surgery.

Emily has a Rottweiler dog named Kola and 2 Guinea pigs named Milktea and Smoothie. Outside of work Emily likes to watch tv shows, play video games and spend time with her dog.

Cannington Veterinary Hospital - Dr Kasia Laskowski

Dr Kasia Laskowski

Veterinarian

Dr. Kasia Laskowski graduated from Murdoch university in 2007. She has worked in various small animal clinics and shelters across Perth and has been at Cannington Vets on and off since 2012.

Kasia enjoys all aspects of general practice and finds being able to help pets have long, happy and healthy lives from birth until they are old and grey very rewarding. Her areas of special interest include preventative health care, internal medicine and geriatric wellness.

At home Kasia has a ginger cat named Arnold, who acts more like a dog than a cat, and 3 young children, who keep her busy when she is not at work.

Dr Kwei-Fharn Liu

Veterinarian

Dr Kwei-Fharn Liu graduated from Murdoch university 2022, she has a special interest in haematology and pathology and has quite a few achievements and awards under her belt. She was awarded the Vice Chancellor commendation for Academic excellence in 2018, 2019 and 2020 for outstanding performance, having placed in the top 2% and receiving a High Distinction.

She loves spending time with her 5 cats when she is not working or continuing her research.

Cannington Veterinary Hospital - Tricia

Tricia

Practice Manager

Tricia has recently joined us as our Practice Manager, coming from the human medical field with over 15 years of management experience and has always been an animal lover. She is also a qualified RTO officer and is currently near completion of her diploma in management.

Tricia enjoys spending time renovating her semi-rural property with her 2 fur babies, Labrador Ruby and American Bullador Sprocket. They all share the house and property with a family of owls, bungarras and bandicoots to name a few of the more friendly wildlife.

It truly is pure joy to work alongside your much loved animals and to give them cuddles and pats with a few kind words whilst they’re with us is a dream come true.

Cara

Veterinary Nurse

Cara is an experienced Veterinarry Nurse who puts patients at ease with her calming demeanour.

She loves horse riding and cuddles with her adorable bunny “Harley“ and her camera-shy labradoodles “Piper” and “Banksy”.

Cara has a special interest in dog grooming as well as critical and emergency care. She is also aspiring to continue studying anesthesiology.

Vet Nurse Mikayla Cannington Vets

Mikayla

Veterinary Nurse
Mikayla joined us in March 2023, she loves the continuity of taking care of animals from when they arrive to the outcome when they recover. She likes all types of surgeries but has a special interest in emergency treatment and care.
 
She has a bright and bubbly personality with a can-do attitude, she is always positive and brings joy to her colleagues.
 
Mikayla graduated in 2021 and has had previous vet nursing experience. She also volunteers at Shenton Dog Refuge and The Cat Haven. 
 
She doesn’t have any animals of her own at present, so she is in line for the next adoption. Maybe this beautiful cat.
